V O I D

This is a Prototype/PoC build of the game to get some initial feedback & gauge interest. 

The plan is for this to be a roguelite with additional layers to the pit and more enemies and bosses. Eventually, the player will be able to pick up animal companions and additional powerups along the way, to make the descent easier. 

Currently, there is a single short level with a boss "fight" at the end.  The scope of the game has grown a bit since the original idea, and I've got some other ideas I want to prototype as well. Progress will likely be slow, but I do plan for this to be a completed game eventually.

You have had the good fortune of being chosen for the opportunity to dive headfirst into the unregulated depths! The deeper you go, the more unstable reality becomes, but don’t let that dissuade you. Strange and ancient energies radiate from the Pit's depths, and you’ll likely experience inexplicable phenomena firsthand. As a committed member of the scientific community, we're sure you'll be fascinated!

Alongside your company-issued suit, you will be armed with your wit and light as you descend into alien environments. As you know, survival is not a mandatory or useful vehicle of data. Your success is measured by the depth you achieve, not the state of your being or psyche. We are excited to see how far you can push our grip on the unknown.

Be vigilant, Cadet. And remember, with each discovery you advance the ultimate goal of VOID: science and knowledge for a better humanity! 

VOID is a non-combat roguelite platformer for the Playdate which plays with light as a primary mechanic. 

You play as a new recruit to VOID: Volunteers for Observation in Impossible Depths. Armed with only a crank-powered flashlight for protection, your mission is to dive deeper than anyone else ever has in order to gather more data about what is contained in the depths.
